My client, a leading global firm, is in urgent need of a talented and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 12 months, with a further 12 months potential.

The Senior Platform Engineer will:

  • Generate requirements, together with other architects, engineers, application team(s), and user(s), to ensure that all high-level requirements have been met.
  • Produce products such as TADs, technical documents, logical flows, and models to keep the user(s), architects, and engineers constantly updated and in agreement on the evolving application, system, or platform.
  • Ensure that all architectural products and products with architectural input are maintained in the most current state and never allowed to become obsolete.

This role requires experience in internet fundamentals related to web servers, application servers, internet security, and other internet technologies. The job actively involves designing and delivering internet infrastructure solutions that satisfy member, product, service, and backbone requirements.

Key qualifications include:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of network and operating system principles and web middleware.
  • Advanced knowledge of load balancers and web application firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of database technologies and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles and Network Micro-segmentation.
  • Experience with drawing tools, such as Visio, and familiarity with YAML-based deployments.
  • Infrastructure design experience, cloud experience, and security knowledge with data centres and infrastructure security experience.
