Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer – Asbestos to join their team and play a pivotal role in ensuring safety and compliance in asbestos management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead with Purpose: Take an active role in delivering our mission, promoting motivation and purpose within your team.
- Build Relationships: Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, external partners, and multi‑agency groups to ensure service effectiveness.
- Promote Safety Culture: Embed a proactive health and safety culture within the organization as part of the compliance team.
- Manage Asbestos Compliance: Oversee the effective day‑to‑day management of asbestos safety and compliance, ensuring all statutory obligations are met.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert in asbestos safety, providing advice, training, and support as needed.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate records of inspections, assessments, and compliance actions are maintained.
- Continual Improvement: Identify opportunities for service improvement in asbestos safety and compliance.
- Training & Development: Facilitate training for staff and contractors to ensure competency in asbestos safety procedures.
Your Day‑to‑Day
- Conduct audits and manage data related to asbestos safety and compliance.
- Investigate and resolve any irregularities or non‑compliance issues.
- Develop safe systems of work and risk assessments to eliminate unsafe practices.
- Contribute to the governance and performance monitoring framework for compliance safety.
- Train and advise stakeholders on asbestos safety and compliance matters.
What You Bring
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (Asbestos compliance, Health and Safety).
- P402 and P405 qualifications, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a technical asbestos role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- A robust understanding of legislative frameworks regarding asbestos safety and compliance.
- IT illiterate.
