Our client, Gwent Police are seeking an Investigating Support Officer to join their dynamic investigation team in Cwmbran on a temporary basis. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of £17.50 and is perfect for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact through their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evidence Collection: Gather, review, and present evidence in line with departmental requirements, ensuring all documentation is concise and adheres to relevant rules and legislation.
- Community Engagement: Coordinate and conduct house-to-house inquiries and CCTV investigations, documenting findings accurately and following established procedures.
- Exhibit Management: Take charge of the management and transportation of exhibits. Liaise with the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) to prepare and submit items for forensic testing when necessary.
- Court Liaison: Attend court proceedings to provide verbal evidence and serve as a direct point of contact between the SIO and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
- Data Management: Utilise all relevant computer systems, including NICHE, to maintain databases for disclosure and exhibit management.
- Compliance and Disclosure: Operate in accordance with the CPIA Act, acting as a Disclosure Officer when required, ensuring all materials are examined and presented accurately to the CPS.
- Information Presentation: Review and present information from various sources, including CCTV, house-to-house inquiries, and digital downloads, to support investigations.
- Research and Preparation: Assist in the preparation of files for submission to the CPS, ensuring all necessary documentation is thorough and organised.
- Interviewing: Conduct interviews with suspects or witnesses, adhering to established codes of practice and legislation, based on qualifications and accreditations.
