Location: Cheltenham Station
Contract: Immediate start, ongoing temporary role
Pay: Β£13.45 per hour initially, Β£15.26 per hour after submission of 12 timesheets
Hours: Ad hoc shifts offered on a weekly basis, varied 5 - 8-hour shifts between 05:45 and 19:00, typically 1-2 shifts per week, zero-hours contract.
Please note: Due to the early start time of 05:00 AM, applicants must be local to Cheltenham or have access to reliable transport to arrive on time. This role would particularly suit someone seeking part-time, flexible work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to all passengers.
- Manage passenger flow and queues through the station.
- Check tickets and ensure passengers are travelling with a valid ticket.
- Direct customers to the correct train and platform.
- Operate ticket gates safely and effectively.
- Support customers requiring additional assistance.
- Report incidents and contribute to maintaining a safe station environment.
- Identify ticket irregularities and refer them to Revenue Protection colleagues.
- Provide a friendly, professional, and approachable presence within the station.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Ability to pass a DBS check.
