Credit Controller - Temp to Perm

Job Title: Credit Controller (Temp to Perm)

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a well-established and reputable company based in Basildon, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a temporary-to-permanent position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing a portfolio of accounts and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
2. Regularly liaising with customers to resolve any payment queries or disputes
3. Processing and allocating payments to customer accounts
4. Maintaining accurate records of communications and transactions
5. Performing credit checks and assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers
6. Reporting on aged debt and providing updates to senior management
7. Supporting the finance team with month-end reporting and reconciliations
8. Ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures to minimise risk

Skills & Experience Required:

1. Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable roles
2. Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practices
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
4. Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
5. Good organisational skills with attention to detail
6. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and experience using finance software (SAGE, Xero, etc.) would be an advantage
7. A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
