The Opportunity
We are working with a growing, globally active industrial business that is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to support and execute operational excellence across both UK and USA sites. This is a high-impact role working directly with senior leadership, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys being at the centre of daily operations, improvements, and delivery. The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will act as the on-site operational lead when present driving daily performance, maintaining discipline, and ensuring priorities are delivered. This is a site-based role in Corby, combined with regular USA travel.
Travel Structure:
- Initial 6-12 months: USA trips in 2-6 week blocks
- Long-term: Approx. 50/50 UK & USA rotation (2-3 months at a time in the USA)
- Fully funded accommodation provided during USA assignments
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring smooth workflow and output
- Drive daily priorities, resolve issues quickly, and maintain operational momentum
- Support and challenge local teams to deliver consistent performance
- Deliver hands-on continuous improvement projects (Lean, 5S, workflow optimisation)
- Introduce clear, simple ways of working (SOPs, checklists, visual management)
- Build strong shop-floor engagement and develop team capability
- Provide clear updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and results

About You
- 3-7+ years' experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics or engineering environments
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results on the shop floor
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on finishing what you start
- Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement (practical experience preferred)
- Confident communicator, able to build credibility quickly with teams
- Based within reasonable commuting distance of Corby
- Open to regular international travel
