Client: Local Authority in East London

Pay Rate: £500 Daily Umbrella

Hours: 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri)

Duration: Initial 3 month interim contract

Location: Hybrid Working - 2-3 days on site/office based in Newham

Description:

Role Purpose: The Estate Surveyor is part of a team managing over 600 Council owned commercial properties, the majority of which are retail, but also includes industrial, offices and land. The successful candidate must be a Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or actively working towards gaining chartership.

Duties to be involved in:

  • Commercial portfolio management
  • Landlord and tenant matters
  • Rent reviews and lease renewals
  • Lettings and lease negotiations
  • Service charge management and recovery
  • Assignments, sublettings, licences and wayleaves
  • Arrears management and tenant engagement
  • Property inspections and general estate management
  • Income generation and asset management initiatives

MRICS qualification and previous local authority experience would be highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing a large mixed-use commercial property portfolio.
  • Experience in managing tenants from the community and voluntary sector.
  • Experience with reporting to and managing the expectations of elected members.
