Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 39.5 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role

Adecco is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing and distribution business based in Colchester for an Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join a busy commercial team within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing customer enquiries, interpreting technical and architectural information, and producing accurate quotations, pricing schedules, and production plans. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed estimates, quotations, and production schedules.
  • Analyse customer enquiries to ensure timely and accurate quote generation.
  • Interpret architectural drawings and create project schedules.
  • Develop and verify pricing schedules and specifications.
  • Review technical details against relevant requirements.
  • Work closely with sales, project, planning, purchasing, and production teams.
  • Liaise regularly with customers regarding quotations, project requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all documentation is received and managed within required timescales.
  • Support sales activities by following up on quotations and assisting with order conversion.
  • Maintain electronic and paper-based records accurately.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider team.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety procedures.
  • Support the business with additional duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role (essential).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
