Are you an experienced professional in the construction industry? Are you seeking a position where you can showcase your skills and make a significant impact? Our client is looking for a diligent and knowledgeable Clerk of Works (Building) to join their team. As a key member of their Estates, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of various infrastructure projects.

Fixed Term Contract @ 2 years based in Dundee.

Working closely with Project Managers within the Projects Team, you will be responsible for inspecting construction works and ensuring they adhere to best practises, legislation, drawings, and specifications. In addition, you will provide crucial support to Project Managers to maintain the quality control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

As the Clerk of Works, your specific responsibilities will include:

* Conducting regular inspections of ongoing and completed works, comparing them with drawings and specifications.
* Measuring and sampling building materials to ensure their quality.
* Collaborating with project teams to identify defects and propose corrective measures.
* Monitoring and reporting on project progress to Project Managers.
* Assisting in the identification and implementation of safer and more efficient work methods.
* Overseeing contractors\’ works on site and maintaining detailed records.
* Liaising with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and end users.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies, regulations, and building standards.
* Providing technical and professional advice when necessary.
* Taking individual responsibility for health and safety requirements and ensuring full compliance.

To excel in this role, you should possess a wealth of experience and skills in the construction industry, with a proven track record of teamwork and problem-solving. You should also have a flexible approach to working hours and be willing to carry out some out-of-hours duties.

To be considered for this position, the following qualifications and experience are preferred:
* An SVQ Level 3/HNC/Apprenticeship or equivalent in a construction-related subject.
* Relevant site/contractor supervision or clerk of works experience.
* Membership with the Institute of Clerks of Works is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
