Croydon Council is seeking reliable and hard-working Cleansing Operatives to join our Streets and Environment - Environmental Enforcement team on a temporary basis. You will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of parks, open spaces, and public areas across the borough. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that contributes directly to improving the local environment for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleansing duties across parks and open spaces
- Litter picking and maintaining clean public areas
- Emptying litter bins and dog waste bins
- Removal of fly-tipped waste, including household items and furniture
- Supporting general environmental maintenance tasks across the borough
- Driving a council vehicle (up to 3.5 tonnes) as part of daily operations
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
- Willingness to undertake and pass a Council driving assessment
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
