Are you passionate about enhancing the student experience and providing exceptional support in an academic environment? Our client, a renowned educational institution in London, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Student & Academic Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis with potential for permanent placement.

Location: London (3 days onsite per week)

Contract: 5 months (with temp to perm potential)

Rate: £19.59 per hour PAYE

What You'll Do:

  • Providing seamless customer service to staff and students, addressing queries via multiple channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Student Support Duties: The role involves answering student queries about programmes and modules, providing general support, and engaging in specialist tasks such as managing complex cases with guidance from experienced colleagues.
  • Managing complex student cases, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Marking Tracker Updates: The role includes updating a large marking tracker spreadsheet alongside three or four colleagues, monitoring assignment completion, and escalating issues when marking is not completed on time.
  • Assisting with the monitoring of student attendance, including data collection and record-keeping.
  • Supporting course teams with tutorial organization, communication, and module sign-ups.
  • Organizing student progression boards and academic advisor allocations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate University-wide activities such as enrolment, Welcome Week, and graduation.
  • Maintaining and populating course Moodle pages and supporting various course-level activities, from student events to external speaker arrangements.

Who You Are:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires some knowledge of university operations, ideally from a background in university administration or student support.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with professional and academic staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft packages.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and equality issues related to staff and student matters.
