Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Our client, a leading organisation in credit risk management, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Credit Underwriter to join their Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of managing credit risk across our client's Institutional Client Group, ensuring the integrity and quality of their credit underwriting processes.

Start ASAP, pay £677 per day via umbrella, hours Monday-Friday 40 hours per week, hybrid 3 days per week in the office, duration 15 months, location Canary Wharf. The successful candidate will be required to go through a security clearance ahead of starting.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure Accuracy: Oversee the completion and documentation of Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages, ensuring every detail is accurate and comprehensive.
  • Support Decision-Making: Collaborate with Senior Underwriters to make informed credit recommendations, including risk ratings and regulatory classifications.
  • Conduct In-Depth Analyses: Analyse financial data and client information to identify strengths, weaknesses, and risk factors.
  • Model & Stress Test: Engage in projection modelling and stress testing, utilising research from diverse sources to inform your analyses.
  • Monitor Relationships: Conduct periodic credit monitoring, including Annual Reviews (ARs) and Quarterly Reviews (QRs), keeping an eye on any potential credit concerns.
  • Educate & Inform: Communicate any operational performance deterioration to bankers and support Senior Underwriters during audits and regulatory exams.
  • Stay Informed: Remain updated on credit policies, procedures, laws, and regulations specific to Residential Real Estate.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: 10 years in credit risk within the financial services industry, with a focus on Residential Real Estate or at a rating agency.
  • Methodology Knowledge: Strong familiarity with rating agency methodologies, particularly in securitisations and non-bank financial institutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to synthesise, prioritise, and drive results with urgency.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
