Join Our Team as a Temporary Finance Officer!

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of education recruitment? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in Ruthin!

Position: Temporary Finance Officer
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 35 hours per week (exact hours TBC)
Start Date: ASAP (Ongoing)
Pay Rate: £20.60 to £21.22 per hour

Your Role:

  • Transaction Management: Process routine data input and journal entries into the finance system. Raise purchase orders and scrutinise invoices as per the Finance Manual. Handle cash and banking transactions, including reconciliations and BACS payments.
  • Payroll and Budget Support: Assist with monthly payroll processing routines alongside our outsourced provider. Provide support to department budget holders in managing trip budgets and income collection.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly account reconciliations for bank and control accounts. Aid in the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of all financial transactions.
  • Debtor Management: Recover outstanding debts and work collaboratively with families to resolve issues. Maintain records of school lettings and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Advisory Role: Offer financial advice to budget holders and assist with budget monitoring.

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of finance systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

  • Attend school events and participate in emergencies as required.
  • Arrange and conduct training sessions to educate staff on financial procedures.
