Role Overview
As a motivated Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in their scientific team. Your expertise will contribute to the analysis, validation, and reporting of patient specimens while ensuring they maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialist testing in biochemistry, immunology, and haematology using both automated and manual techniques.
- Independently validate and authorise results, promptly escalating any abnormalities to senior staff or the Clinical Lab Director.
- Maintain and participate in internal quality controls and ensure compliance with UKAS/ISO 15189 standards.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures.
- Provide accurate and timely diagnostic information to clinicians and stakeholders.
- Support the phlebotomy clinic and process incoming patient specimens.
- Collaborate with lab leadership to optimise operations and compliance.
- Maintain your HCPC registration, engage in continuous professional development (CPD), and compile a professional portfolio.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science (IBMS‑accredited or equivalent).
