We are seeking a highly skilled, forward‑thinking and delivery focused AI Workspace Engineer to lead the technical delivery, governance, and optimisation of enterprise AI productivity platforms. The role focuses primarily on Microsoft 365 Copilot and Google Workspace Gemini, including NotebookLM, while also covering complementary enterprise AI tools that enhance collaboration, decision‑making, knowledge management, and automation.
As the technical subject matter expert, you will design, deploy, integrate, and operationalise AI‑powered experiences that transform how the organisation works. The role spans solution architecture, security and compliance alignment, data readiness, custom extension development, user enablement, and ongoing optimisation across both Microsoft and Google ecosystems. This is a high‑impact role that shapes how the organisation leverages next‑generation AI capabilities across the digital workplace.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead the technical enablement and integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Workspace Gemini, and NotebookLM across the organisation.
- Build and embed AI‑powered solutions using platform APIs, connectors, extension frameworks, and automation tools.
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for all enterprise AI workspace technologies, supporting engineering, architecture, security, and business teams.
- Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems and data sources to enable contextual, workflow‑driven use cases.
- Develop reusable prompts, templates, and solution components to accelerate adoption and standardise delivery.
- Ensure secure, compliant, and well‑governed operation of AI tools by working closely with security, identity, and risk teams.
- Manage the lifecycle of AI workspace solutions, including deployment, monitoring, optimisation, and ongoing improvements.
- Support adoption and change by providing technical guidance, patterns, and enablement to teams and users.
- Evaluate new features and roadmaps from Microsoft and Google and recommend strategic enhancements.
Qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications
- Strong, demonstrable hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, including Copilot, Copilot Studio, Graph API, and core M365 administration.
- Hands‑on experience with Google Workspace, including Gemini for Business, NotebookLM, Workspace Admin Console, and Workspace Add‑ons.
- Proven ability to embed AI capabilities into business workflows, applications, and collaboration tools.
- Good understanding of enterprise identity, data governance, and security controls across Microsoft and Google ecosystems.
- Experience creating prompts, templates, grounding solutions, or automation workflows that improve real user productivity.
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Graph API, Workspace APIs, and related permissions models.
- Good understanding of cloud AI services such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI.
- Ability to build extensions or automations using Power Automate, Apps Script, or comparable tooling.
- Understanding of Responsible AI practices, including safe prompting, data boundaries, and AI behaviour testing.
- Good grasp of enterprise architecture basics and how AI capabilities integrate with enterprise systems.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Copilot licensing models, including prerequisites, service plans, data access implications, and organisational rollout considerations.
