Adecco are recruiting on behalf of our key client in Wrexham for an experienced and driven Warehouse Shift Manager to join a large, fast‑paced warehouse operation. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone ready to step up and take full accountability for shift performance. While the role will sometimes involve night shifts, candidates must be fully flexible to work across other shifts when required to support operational demands and site leadership. You will be office‑based within the warehouse but highly visible on the warehouse floor, leading from the front to ensure safe, efficient and people‑focused operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage warehouse teams to consistently achieve operational KPIs
- Take ownership of shift performance, acting as the manager on shift
- Support Team Leaders, ensuring standards and expectations are met
- Champion Health & Safety as the number one priority across the warehouse
- Manage people performance, including coaching, absence and conduct
- Use warehouse and business IT systems confidently for reporting and administration
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN principles
- Identify and implement operational improvements within the first 3 months
- Act as a professional point of contact for customer-related communication, escalating where required
- Remain flexible and solutions‑focused, stepping in across shifts and functions when operational challenges arise
About You
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Operative and Shift Supervisor or Team Leader
- Fully flexible to work a variety of shifts, including nights
- Strong people management skills with confidence handling difficult conversations
- Excellent Health & Safety knowledge and leadership mindset
- Confident IT user with strong organisational and administrative skills
- FLT experience beneficial but not essential
- Background in FMCG, warehouse, cold store or manufacturing environments
- Resilient, practical and hands‑on leadership style
- Ambitious and motivated with a desire to progress
