We are currently recruiting for a Payroll & Finance Administrator to join a busy team based in Chester City Centre. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role will initially be part‑time (2-3 days per week), with the opportunity to increase to 4 days per week as the role develops.

Location & Working Pattern

  • Chester City Centre
  • Tuesday: office‑based
  • Wednesday: working from home
  • Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm (1‑hour lunch)
  • Start date: Tuesday 3rd February
  • Casual dress code
  • Salary: £13.50 per hour

The Role

This is a high‑volume administrative role with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency. The position involves a lot of repetitive spreadsheet‑based work, supporting payroll and finance processes to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met. Duties will include:

  • Extensive data entry and spreadsheet management
  • Ensuring people are paid accurately and on time
  • Highlighting and updating spreadsheets once actions are completed
  • Supporting with invoicing where required
  • Following set processes and procedures accurately
  • General finance and payroll administration

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous admin experience (finance/payroll exposure beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail is essential
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and repetitive tasks
  • Able to pick up processes and tasks quickly
  • Reliable, organised, and methodical
  • Confident working independently once trained
