We are recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser to join a successful and growing business based in Chelmsford. This is a varied role combining ecommerce product set up, stock management, supplier communication and general merchandising administration. It would suit someone who is highly organised, confident using Excel and comfortable working with large amounts of product information and data.
The Role
- Approximately 50% of the position will focus on product set up and ecommerce administration, including:
- Setting up new products within Shopify ready to go live on the company website
- Creating and uploading product titles and descriptions
- Adding different product sizes, options and variations
- Ensuring pricing and other product information is entered accurately
- Using Excel to prepare and import product data into Shopify
- Checking product information carefully before products go live
- Maintaining and updating existing product information
- Working accurately across a high volume of product data
- The remaining 50% will focus on stock, purchasing and general merchandising support, including:
- Monitoring and managing stock levels
- Placing orders with suppliers
- Communicating with suppliers regarding orders, stock and availability
- Monitoring incoming deliveries
- Chasing suppliers and keeping track of expected delivery dates
- Maintaining accurate stock and order information
- Supporting the wider team with merchandising and administrative duties
- Using Excel to maintain and analyse relevant information
About You
We are looking for someone who is naturally organised and has excellent attention to detail, as accuracy is a major part of this position. You will ideally have:
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong organisation and administrative skills
- Good communication skills when dealing with suppliers
- The ability to manage several tasks and priorities
