Adecco Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in the Carlisle area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional to join a successful organisation that places safety, compliance and continuous improvement at the heart of its operations.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will support the development and maintenance of a strong safety culture across the site, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company standards. Working closely with managers and employees, you will provide expert advice and practical support on all aspects of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on health and safety legislation, standards and best practice.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Review and maintain health and safety procedures and documentation.
- Monitor H&S performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage contractor compliance, including review of RAMS and safe systems of work.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Support managers in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
- Liaise with external bodies and regulatory organisations when required.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- NEBOSH Certificate qualification.
- Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience with Risk Assessments, COSHH and RIDDOR.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
- IOSH qualification.
- Environmental qualification.
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
