Location: Cardiff CF24 2RX (Rover Way)

Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour (£30,770 per annum equivalent)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm (45 hours per week)

Contract: Temporary - duration likely to be several months/ ongoing

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Metal Pickers/Scrap Yard Operatives to join our clients busy scrap processing site in Cardiff. This is a hands-on, outdoor role where you'll play a key part in ensuring materials are sorted, inspected, and handled safely in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manually handle and sort scrap materials
  • Inspect and classify materials accurately
  • Organise and separate metals in line with company procedures
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across work areas
  • Clean workspaces and equipment, including conveyor belt cleaners
  • Report hazards, near misses, and incidents using ProSafety systems
  • Follow all health & safety policies, including Safe Systems of Work
  • Support environmental and safety processes onsite
  • Undertake training as required
  • Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Plant Manager

About You

  • Experience in a hands-on or outdoor working environment
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
