Overview
Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent).
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Working Hours: Monday & Tuesday 6:00 am - 3:45 pm; Wednesday & Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Paint Spraying: Prepare, prime, and spray components to high-quality standards.
- Mix paints accurately and perform thickness and adhesion checks.
- Maintain spray equipment and ensure a clean, safe workspace.
- Mechanical Assembly: Assemble and test valves, switches, alternators, and control units.
- Read and follow assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Select correct materials and inspect work for defects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, 5S, and TPM activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' spray painting experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (automotive/metal coatings beneficial).
- Skilled in surface preparation, paint application, and quality checks.
- Able to follow technical documents and standard operating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, team-focused approach.
- Comfortable using PPE, handling hazardous materials, and working in a busy production environment.
- Good general education; technical training or relevant certifications (SSPC/NACE) are a bonus.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 13.6 kg, and work with air-fed masks.
