Are you ready to make a difference in the Energy sector? We are seeking a passionate and motivated Data Platforms Associate to join our dynamic Data Platforms Team! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation that powers the lives of nearly 8 million customers across the UK.

  • Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday all onsite working

About the Role

As a Data Platforms Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our internal IT Service. You'll be the first line of support for incoming IT requests, working closely with developers and internal teams to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver exceptional 1st line technical support to your colleagues and escalate complex issues to senior team members as needed.
  • Manage incoming requests at the service desk, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Data Platforms-related IT requests - your expertise will be invaluable!
  • Follow internal processes diligently and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Perform daily routine checks to guarantee all platforms are operational, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Raise Change Management requests, securing approvals and overseeing migrations and access requests.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency with outstanding time management skills.

What You Bring:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • A foundational understanding of Active Directory and basic networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles, especially 'Continual Service Improvement'.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Products, including Oracle Data Integration (ODI), Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), and Hyperion.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Background in supporting Business Intelligence Applications such as PowerBI, WebFOCUS, and OBIEE.
