Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing business in the Bredbury area for an experienced Calibration Technician / Instrumentation Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in pressure measurement, instrumentation, testing, or calibration who is looking to join a professional technical team with the opportunity for a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, calibration, maintenance, and fault-finding of a range of pressure measurement and instrumentation equipment, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out calibration activities on a variety of pressure and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs where appropriate.
- Accurately record calibration results and maintain relevant documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed turnaround times and quality requirements.
- Support colleagues across other technical areas when required.
- Assist in maintaining company testing and calibration equipment to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Liaise with supervisors and colleagues to prioritise workloads and achieve customer deadlines.
- Attend customer premises when required to carry out on-site calibration and testing activities.
- Follow company quality procedures and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
- Keep work areas organised and maintained to a high standard.
- Participate in training, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within a calibration, instrumentation, testing, engineering, or metrology environment.
- Knowledge of pressure measurement equipment such as gauges, transmitters, sensors, or related instrumentation.
- Experience using calibration and testing equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical information and follow documented procedures.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to occasional site visits.
