Hours are 6am to 9.30am and then 2.30pm to 6pm
A School Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and well-functioning school environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Duties include opening and closing the school, carrying out basic maintenance and repairs, monitoring health and safety standards, arranging rooms and equipment for school activities, overseeing contractors on site, and ensuring the school grounds are tidy and secure.
The caretaker may also assist with emergency procedures, routine inspections, and reporting any maintenance issues to management.
Key Responsibilities
Open and lock school buildings and grounds.
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor heating, lighting, and security systems.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of school premises and grounds.
Set up rooms for events, meetings, and activities.
Liaise with contractors and report defects as required.
This role requires good practical skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school
