Role Overview
As the Data Quality and Governance Lead, you will be instrumental in improving data quality and governance across the organisation. Your leadership will ensure compliance with standards and regulations while enhancing their analytics capabilities to drive better decision-making and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects focused on improving data quality and governance, aligning with strategic goals.
- Define and implement a robust data governance operating model, clarifying roles and responsibilities for data management.
- Establish and evolve policies, controls, and supporting documents to ensure data governance practices are understood and adhered to.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Protection team to ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulations, translating them into actionable strategies.
- Act as a primary contact for data quality, coordinating activities across teams to address any issues promptly.
- Identify critical data domains and implement targeted data quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and present insightful reports on data quality metrics to senior stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with Data Owners and Stewards, providing training and support to uphold governance standards.
What You Bring
- Significant experience in managing data governance frameworks and leading data quality improvement projects.
- Expertise in data management principles, including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Excellent knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and influencing skills to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data quality tools and managing supplier relationships.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the housing or not-for-profit sector.
- Knowledge of emerging data governance frameworks and trends.
- Strong project management skills, ideally with PRINCE2 or Agile certification.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or QlikView.
