We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a high-quality residential development in Manchester City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, customer-focused maintenance professional to become part of a busy on-site team responsible for maintaining apartments, communal areas and resident facilities to a high standard.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the residential development, providing a high standard of service to residents.
Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across the development.
- Complete general repairs including plumbing, joinery, decorating and basic electrical works.
- Undertake apartment repairs, redecoration and preparation for new residents.
- Support planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Conduct health and safety inspections and compliance checks.
- Liaise with and supervise external contractors when required.
- Identify maintenance issues and recommend improvement works.
- Ensure maintenance records and paperwork are completed accurately.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Support the wider management team with operational requirements across the development.
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a building maintenance, facilities maintenance or property maintenance role.
Required Skills
- Good all-round maintenance skills including plumbing, joinery, decorating and general repairs.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
Preferred Skills
- Trade qualification in Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
- Experience within residential, Build to Rent, student accommodation, hospitality or facilities management environments.
Pay range and compensation package
Competitive salary of £28,000 - £31,000 per annum.
