Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware
  • A background in working within an ITIL framework
  • Ability to diagnose faults and provide technical support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • An industry accreditation such as MSITP, MCSE or MCSA is desirable
  • A degree or equivalent in a technology discipline is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and manage server and storage technologies
  • Collaborate with a team of specialists in a 3rd line capacity while ensuring security standards are met
  • Monitor system performance and maintain service availability using tools such as SolarWinds
  • Provide 3rd line support for IT incidents and communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Participate in solution options analysis and product selection for new systems
  • Administer and maintain hybrid server and storage technologies
  • Plan and document effective infrastructure support
  • Ensure data security through patch management and access control
  • Work closely with the Information Management Unit and Security Specialists to implement best practices

We are recruiting a Server and Cloud Engineer to join our IT team within Lincolnshire Police based in Nettleham, Lincoln. This is a temporary, full-time hybrid role working Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:30, with an end date of June 2027 and driving required.
