About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and hands-on Hotel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our successful hospitality business comprising a 17-bedroom hotel and 3 long-term rental apartments. Due to our location, the hotel experiences significant seasonal fluctuations, with busy peak periods and quieter off-season trading. As such, we are looking for a commercially minded manager who can not only maintain exceptional guest service standards but actively drive occupancy, revenue and profitability throughout the year. This is a live-in role requiring a flexible and committed individual who will take full ownership of the operation, lead by example and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall day-to-day running of the hotel and rental apartments.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and high standards of customer service at all times.
  • Manage hotel operations including reception, housekeeping, maintenance and guest relations.
  • Lead, motivate and support staff to deliver excellent service standards.
  • Monitor occupancy levels and implement strategies to maximise revenue throughout the year.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing initiatives to increase bookings, particularly during quieter trading periods.
  • Manage online booking channels and maintain strong review scores across hospitality platforms.
  • Oversee budgets, financial performance, stock control and purchasing.
  • Analyse profit margins, room revenue, costs and expenditure to improve overall profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, licensing and hospitality regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate cost-effective contracts where appropriate.
  • Deal with guest enquiries, complaints and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Take a hands-on approach across all areas of the business when required.

About You

  • An experienced Hotel Manager, General Manager or Hospitality Manager.
  • Commercially aware with strong financial and business acumen.
  • Confident managing budgets, profit margins, cost controls and revenue streams.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities to increase occupancy and sales.
  • A natural leader with excellent people management skills.
  • Customer focused with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the demands of a seasonal hospitality business.
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable taking a hands-on approach and supporting all operational areas when needed.

Benefits

  • Live-in accommodation provided.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on the growth and success of the business.
  • Autonomy to implement ideas and drive revenue.
  • Long-term stable position within an established hospitality operation.
