The Role
We are looking for an experienced Fridge Installer to join a growing engineering team specialising in refrigeration systems fitted to commercial vehicles. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, diagnosing and repairing refrigeration units, ensuring vehicles are completed to the highest quality standards. You'll also play a key role in supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service and diagnose refrigeration systems on commercial vehicles.
- Install new refrigeration systems and complete repairs as required.
- Repair and replace components including compressors, condensers and evaporators.
- Recharge refrigeration systems and ensure optimum cooling performance.
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot refrigeration issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and servicing activities.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards and operating processes.
- Support stock management and assist with ordering parts when required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Work collaboratively with wider engineering and production teams.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, dependable and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Essential Requirements
- F-Gas Qualification.
- Previous experience within an engineering, refrigeration or manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience installing and repairing refrigeration systems.
- Safety-focused approach to work.
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
Desirable
- Experience working with GAH, Carrier, Thermo King or Hubbard refrigeration units.
- Experience creating or following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
