Job Type: Full-Time (Permanent)

Salary: £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly):

  • Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm - 11:30pm, Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Laser Setter & Operator to join a well-established and growing precision sheet metal manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machinery to produce high-quality components for a diverse customer base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in laser operations who is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines efficiently and safely
  • Load programs and materials in accordance with production requirements
  • Adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal cutting performance and quality
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and job specifications
  • Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required tolerances and standards
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and targets
  • Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all times
  • Keep work area clean, organised, and compliant with company standards

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience setting and operating laser cutting machines (e.g. Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar)
  • Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to work rotating shifts
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
