Join Our Client West Midlands Police as a Communications Data Investigator! This temporary full‑time role offers an hourly rate of £19.78 for a contract length of 12 months, based in Birmingham.
What You'll Do
- Act as an accredited Single Point of Contact (SPoC), facilitating the lawful acquisition of communications data from telecommunications and postal operators under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on lawful data acquisition to officers and staff at all levels.
- Assess and evaluate threats, risks, and harms in various investigations, including critical incidents such as homicide and counter‑terrorism.
- Review and progress applications for communications data through the departmental workflow system.
- Deliver training and presentations to enhance understanding across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the communications industry to explore data exploitation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Provide immediate responses and specialist advice during urgent incidents.
- Plan and organise workloads for multiple investigations while adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legislation such as the Investigatory Powers Act and Data Protection laws.
