Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join a well-established manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC machining who is confident programming, setting, and optimising CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components. You will be working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure components are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program CNC machines using appropriate programming methods (offline and/or on-machine)
  • Set, operate, and prove out CNC programs for production runs
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimise machining processes
  • Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Carry out first-off inspection checks and make necessary adjustments
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and scrap
  • Work collaboratively with production and quality teams
  • Maintain safe working practices and ensure machinery is operated correctly

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a precision engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances
  • Good knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining processes

Desirable:

  • Experience with milling and/or turning CNC machines
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Knowledge of various materials including metals and engineering plastics
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the shop floor
