The Role

As a Customer Service Assistant, you will play a key role in managing customer accounts across the UK, ensuring orders are processed efficiently and customers receive outstanding service. You'll work closely with various departments to resolve queries, manage expectations, and support the smooth delivery of products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update customer master data to ensure compliance and data accuracy
  • Process quotations, orders and scheduling agreements within agreed service levels
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email, providing excellent service at all times
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Planning, Finance and Sales Operations teams
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints promptly
  • Track deliveries and liaise with courier partners
  • Support daily operational meetings and shared mailbox management
  • Help drive performance against service targets, including LOTIF (Lines on Time In Full)
  • Promote Thermo Fisher's values and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with customers and can confidently manage multiple priorities.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or customer service environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to work
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Desirable

  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience handling orders, quotations or account administration

What’s on Offer?

  • £15.00 per hour
  • Start Date: 20 July 2026
  • Initial Contract: Until 21 May 2027
  • Hybrid Working: 4 days onsite in Basingstoke, with flexibility to work from home
  • Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Friday: 9:00am - 3:30pm, 45-minute lunch break, 37.5 hours per week
