Job Title: Admin Officer Location: Hounslow, TW3 3EB, full time office based Hourly rate £15.63 PAYE / £20.58 Umbrella per hour Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension) Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours ASAP Start PURPOSE OF ROLE: * To be responsible for the implementation of Hounslow Local Authority\'s statutory responsibilities for all Secondary main round school admissions applications to Hounslow schools. * To accurately enter data, maintain the Admissions module of the Synergy database and SAM portal, tracking the destinations of Hounslow residents, ensuring that children and young people are offered where required a place at school within the statutory timescales. * To have regard to the legal framework relating to admissions and appeals, ensuring that Hounslow local authority\'s published arrangements and policies are adhered to. * To interrogate information submitted by families to ensure the lawful admission of children and young people to Hounslow Schools. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. To place children and young people in Hounslow schools under the PAN London Admission and local authority\'s Coordinated In-Year Admissions Scheme ensuring that all relevant procedures are carried out and agreed referral deadlines are met. 2. To have responsibility for aspects of work related to the Pan-London Secondary main admission round to ensure these functions are administered in accordance with the School Admissions Code. 3. To update and maintain the Synergy admissions database for Hounslow schools, and any other records in relation to Secondary main admissions round operating to an exceptionally high level of accuracy and data verification. 4. To provide administrative support to the Secondary Team for all aspects of the school admissions process, including dealing with enquiries from members of the public, schools and other agencies by telephone including the duty line, in person and in writing. 5. To work with schools to manage the on and off rolling (starters and leavers) admission process and data entry into the Synergy. 6. To liaise with Headteachers, school-based admissions officers, parents, governors, other Council Departments, neighbouring Local Authorities, and others on matters related to admissions. This may involve negotiating with schools over placements. 7. To case manage applications to conclusion making appropriate referrals to other local authorities and outside agencies as appropriate. This may also include doing comprehensive investigations into the circumstances surrounding the application. 8. To identify the most vulnerable and hard-to-place children and young people and their families and refer them to the appropriate panels and/or agencies, e.g. FAP, CME, EWS, MASH, Private Fostering, the Home Office etc. and ensuring appropriate communication and guidance to all parties. 9.
