Role

: Acoustician / Acoustics Consultant

Duration: 6 months (potential 6-month extension)

Location: Warwick – Once per week/As per business needs

Day rate : Highly negotiable (inside IR35)

Client Details:

My client is an International Electricity and Gas Company, one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering electricity and gas to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US in an efficient, reliable, and safe manner.

Job Purpose:

My client is seeking a qualified and experienced Acoustician to assess the potential impact of new assets on the acoustic environment, making recommendations to minimise the effect on sensitive receptors and manage the risk of noise abatement notices to the business.

You will carry out site surveys and desktop modelling in CadnaA and combine this data with your experience of noise associated with high voltage electricity assets to form the basis of your recommendations.

You will have experience of leading the acoustic-specific aspects of Planning Applications and ideally, Development Consent Order applications.

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How:

  • Acoustics Degree or Diploma and/or a member of the IOA
  • CadnaA
  • Experience of the acoustic profile of high voltage electricity assets within the energy or industrial industry
  • Proven ability to develop professional relationships both internally and externally and leverage these relationships to support achievement of objectives.
  • Excellent communicator with a proven ability to influence internal and external technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience of public communications and the ability to empathize in the face of public concern.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Experience of Planning Applications, and ideally, Development Consent Orders
  • Experience of both technical and reputational risk management.
