Your Role
As an Accounts Trainee, you will report primarily to the Accounts Lead while supporting various aspects of the finance function. You'll gain hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day transactional matters and receive on‑the‑job training in the following areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting sales ledger services on a rotational basis (maintaining cash collections spreadsheet, processing cash receipts, etc.).
- Maintaining the firm's deposit accounts (managing electronic inbox, matching processes, fee charges, write‑offs, top‑up payments).
- Supporting purchase ledger services (coding and processing chargeable/non‑chargeable invoices, supporting payment runs, authorisation of cheques, supplier statement reconciliation).
- Supporting accounts control procedures (bank reconciliation, petty cash counts, journal postings).
- Assisting the Accounts Lead with housekeeping of control accounts.
Skills / Qualifications
- AAT Level 2 qualification preferred, but AAT studies expected after probation.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good reconciliation and troubleshooting skills.
- Good records management experience, especially document management.
- Previous experience of accounting packages and query tools preferred.
- French language skills preferred.
- Detail oriented, able to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, confident liaising with Fee Earners and team members.
- Self‑management in a hybrid working environment, high quality and prompt.
- Flexible attitude, willingness to help others and share knowledge.
- Teamwork and learning mindset.
