We are recruiting a Warehouse Operative to join a busy, well organised warehouse operation in Glasgow. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, teamwork and reliability are essential. You will be part of a supportive onsite team and play an important role in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched correctly and on time. This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things right first time and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment. With consistent weekday hours and overtime available, this role offers stability and the chance to gain valuable warehouse experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Picking, packing and shipping customer orders to tight deadlines
- Using in-house computer systems to support daily warehouse activities
- Safely operating warehouse equipment, including counterbalance and reach trucks (valid licences required)
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines
- Completing accurate records to meet quality and regulatory requirements
- Carrying out in-process checks to ensure order accuracy and compliance
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and warehouse organisation
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Practical Process Improvement (PPI)
- Working safely, efficiently and flexibly as processes and priorities change
Working Environment
- Temperature-controlled environments, including cold rooms (+4C) and freezers (-20C)
- Physically active role involving standing, walking and repetitive tasks
- Manual handling duties, including lifting items up to 25kg
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year's experience in a warehouse, distribution or supply chain environment
- Good computer skills
- Strong written and spoken English
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Experience operating powered industrial trucks such as forklifts or order pickers
Training and Support
- Full onsite induction and role-specific training provided
- Ongoing support from experienced team members and supervisors
Health, Safety and PPE
- PPE provided onsite
- Safety boots must be supplied by the candidate or supplier
