We are looking for an enthusiastic Textile Operator to join our local client in East Ayrshire on a permanent basis. You should have experience using industrial sewing machines and a keen eye for detail. You will play a key role in creating high-quality soft furnishings for retail customers, working on beautifully crafted products such as cushions and curtains.
What you’ll do:
- Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
- Stitch a variety of fabric bases to exact specifications
- Carry out quality checks and maintain high standards throughout production
- Read and follow production paperwork accurately
- Support across different areas including cutting, sewing, inspection, and packing
- Keep your work area clean and organised
- Perform basic sewing machine maintenance (changing needles, cleaning, threading)
What we’re looking for:
- Ideally 2 years’ experience in a cut-and-sew production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work with a range of industrial sewing machines
- Knowledge of soft furnishing assembly
- Positive, can-do attitude and team spirit
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
