Job Description
We are recruiting for a Site Maintenance Manager for a leading manufacturing company to oversee maintenance operations at one of its key facilities in East Lothian. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative organisation at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing and green technology.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance activities, as well as site projects and maintenance systems. You'll lead a team of fitters and electricians, driving performance and reliability across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance of equipment and personnel.
- Oversee asset management, preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
- Develop and manage CMMS systems (e.g., PEMAC) for scheduling, stores, and purchasing.
- Deliver key performance indicators including uptime, downtime, and maintenance efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean maintenance practices and process engineering.
- Manage maintenance budgets and project costs effectively.
- Collaborate with external contractors to complete maintenance and project work to high standards.
- Coach and develop team members to meet industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Engineering qualification (mechanical/electrical) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in maintenance/engineering management, ideally in heavy industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven experience with maintenance strategies such as RCM, TPM, and asset management.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
