We are supporting a well‑established manufacturing organisation as they continue to grow and invest heavily in their engineering operations. They are now looking to appoint an Electrical Supervisor for their site in East Lothian. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Leader to join a forward‑thinking business with modern equipment, ongoing site investment and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and developing the electrical team, driving improvements across the plant and ensuring all electrical activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with legislation. You will champion best practices, support continuous improvement projects and play a key role in developing long‑term maintenance plans for the site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and promote electrical best practice across the site.
- Deliver improvement projects, including planning, budgeting and execution.
- Apply preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to enhance asset performance.
- Identify long‑term plant risks and support in developing repair strategies.
- Ensure performance aligns with site objectives, values and behaviours.
- Create and manage obsolescence and replacement plans.
- Monitor electrical tasks through spot checks and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify skills gaps and support development, succession planning and 1‑2‑1s.
- Ensure statutory electrical inspections are completed and follow‑up work is actioned.
- Conduct weekly safety briefings and promote a strong safety culture.
- 18th Edition qualified.
- Experience working with high‑voltage systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and motor circuits.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations and UK legislation.
- HNC, Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with ATEX and DSEAR.
- NEBOSH or IOSH is beneficial.
- Financial and budget control awareness.
- Experience managing or supervising an electrical team.
- Hands‑on approach when required.
- PLC systems experience.
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
