Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00

Location: East Kilbride

Working Style: Hybrid with one day potentially in East Kilbride Site (flexible to your working style)

Pay Rate: £12.82-£15 an hour

We are recruiting a Trainee CAD Engineer to join a busy team in East Kilbride on a hybrid working basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with college‑level CAD experience or hands‑on familiarity with CAD software who is keen to develop professionally.

The Role

As a Trainee CAD Engineer, you will support the team in clearing a backlog of plan drawings for an ongoing project which involves identifying asbestos in different locations. Your duties will include:

  • Producing and updating CAD drawings accurately and efficiently
  • Working through a defined schedule of outstanding plans
  • Liaising with the team regarding drawing requirements and clarifications
  • Occasional attendance at the East Kilbride office (approximately once per week)
  • Report writing is also involved in this role at a later stage in the contract (full training provided)

You will be supported by experienced engineers and receive guidance to develop your skills further.

About You

We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised, and eager to learn. Essential skills include:

  • Experience using AutoCAD, nanoCAD, or Microsoft Visio (college or training-level experience is acceptable)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • Good communication skills
  • Can show good initiative
