Our client is a leading specialist in the fabrication and installation of structural and architectural metalwork and is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder/fabricator to work on a variety of projects including staircases, balustrades, roof access systems, structural steelwork and secondary steelwork.
Key Responsibilities Manufacture and fabricate a wide range of steelwork and metalwork products Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld specifications Set up, tack and weld components to tight tolerances Perform TIG, MIG and MMA welding on mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel Carry out final inspections and ensure high-quality cosmetic finishes.
Operate fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely and efficiently Assist in maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout the workshop Support and mentor apprentices where required To be successful in this role you will have: Previous experience as a Fabricator/Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment Experience working with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel Strong TIG, MIG and MMA welding skills The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols A strong understanding of fabrication processes and setup techniques Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Strong awareness of health and safety procedures SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or Engineering discipline preferred Apprenticeship trained candidates are highly desirable Minimum 4 years' relevant fabrication/welding experience preferred What's on Offer?
