Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership across a large industrial manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior electrical engineering professional to take ownership of electrical safety, compliance, asset integrity, reliability and capital project delivery within a highly regulated environment.

As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the site's electrical infrastructure, including HV and LV systems and hazardous area equipment. You will act as the technical authority for electrical engineering matters while supporting maintenance, reliability improvements and future site investment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical safety and compliance activities across the site
  • Act as, or support, the site's Electrical Duty Holder
  • Manage HV and LV distribution systems, ensuring all inspections, testing and certification requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain electrical safety procedures, isolation standards and permit-to-work systems
  • Provide technical leadership for ATEX and hazardous area compliance
  • Lead electrical asset integrity and reliability improvement programmes
  • Support root cause investigations into equipment failures and incidents
  • Review and approve electrical engineering designs and specifications
  • Support CAPEX projects from design through installation, commissioning and handover
  • Manage specialist contractors and service providers
  • Develop asset replacement and obsolescence plans for critical infrastructure
  • Manage budgets relating to electrical compliance and maintenance activities
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety and asset care across the site

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Degree (BEng/BSc) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards Chartership
  • Strong knowledge of UK electrical legislation, standards and best practice
  • Formal training in HV systems and electrical safety management
  • Knowledge of ATEX and DSEAR regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience
  • CompEx qualification
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
  • Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
  • Functional Safety awareness or TV qualification
  • Membership of the IET or other relevant professional institution
