Our client is a leading specialist in the fabrication and installation of structural and architectural metalwork and is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder/fabricator to work on a variety of projects including staircases, balustrades, roof access systems, structural steelwork and secondary steelwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and fabricate a wide range of steelwork and metalwork products
- Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld specifications
- Set up, tack and weld components to tight tolerances
- Perform TIG, MIG and MMA welding on mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel
- Carry out final inspections and ensure high-quality cosmetic finishes
- Operate fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist in maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout the workshop
- Support and mentor apprentices where required
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience as a Fabricator/Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience working with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel
- Strong TIG, MIG and MMA welding skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols
- A strong understanding of fabrication processes and setup techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or Engineering discipline preferred. Apprenticeship trained candidates are highly desirable. Minimum 4 years' relevant fabrication/welding experience preferred.
