About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering projects, ensuring that all estimates are competitive and align with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse blueprints, specifications, and project plans to understand the scope of work.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Review and evaluate quotes for specification compliance and select for bid inclusion.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct site visits to gather necessary data and assess project conditions.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and update estimates as project scopes change.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Support bid strategies and tender presentations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil estimating within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
