School Cook - To cover both Whitehaven & Workington
Locations: Whitehaven & Workington
Pay Rate: £13.90 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm
Contract: 2nd November - 18th December
Requirement: Enhanced DBS Check Required
We're looking for an experienced and reliable Cook to join a busy school catering team, covering sites in both Whitehaven and Workington.
Duties Include:
- Preparing sandwiches and packed lunch items for students attending residential trips
- Cooking approximately 30-40 meals per day
- Producing a variety of hot meals such as sausage & mash and other daily specials
- Preparing sandwiches, jacket potatoes and alternative lunch options
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Following food safety regulations at all times
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous cooking or catering experience
- Comfortable working in a school environment
- Able to work independently across two sites
- Holds a valid DBS certificate or is happy to undergo a DBS check
- Reliable, organised and passionate about providing quality meals
