Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Hybrid

Please note this role will be subject to Police Vetting, you will need to have been residing within the UK for a minimum of 5 Years continually.
Our client, a reputable organisation in the public sector, is seeking an Accounts Technician to support their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the Accounts Department while contributing to vital financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Management Accountants in maintaining compliance with financial obligations, policies, and regulations, particularly around Seized Cash.
- Play a critical role in the month-end close by posting journals and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Manage the administration of specialist accounts and sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets to aid in decision-making and financial monitoring.
- Handle team inboxes, resolving queries promptly and prioritising requests with a proactive mindset.
- Create budget and overtime codes to ensure system accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in the timely raising of sundry debtor requests and coding invoices.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and skills.
What Our Client Is Looking For
- GCSEs in Maths and English (grades 9-4/A*-C) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using finance systems (e.g., Aptos) to manipulate and interpret financial data.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with colleagues across various departments.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and reliable data.
- AAT qualification or progress towards it is desirable.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
