Building Safety Levy Officer
Ealing, W5 2HL | Hybrid Working (2 Days Office / 3 Days Remote)
35 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday)
3-Month Contract with Possible Extension
£20.96 per hour PAYE

We are recruiting for a Building Safety Levy Officer to join a Local Authority in Ealing's Building Control & Surveying Services team.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in administering the new Building Safety Levy, helping to ensure compliance with legislation, accurate financial processes, and effective service delivery across the council.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing levy liability and chargeability for developments
- Issuing levy determinations, notices, invoices and payment certificates
- Monitoring, recording and reconciling payments
- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
- Responding to enquiries from developers and stakeholders
- Supporting audit, compliance and reporting activities
- Working closely with Planning, Finance and Building Control teams to ensure effective service delivery
What We're Looking For
- Experience in an administrative or operational role, preferably within a local authority or public sector environment
- Knowledge of financial processes including invoicing, payment tracking and reconciliation
- Understanding of planning, building control or regulatory processes
- Experience working within established procedures, guidance and compliance frameworks
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage data accurately and maintain detailed records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across different teams
Essential Qualifications
- GCSEs Grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
