Management Accountant
Location: Croydon
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Rate: £22.00 per hour
Contract: 3 months with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Primarily onsite during training, with the possibility of up to 2 days per week remote working after training has been completed, subject to manager discretion
The Role
As a Management Accountant, you will provide high-quality financial and operational information to support business performance and decision-making. You'll be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, partner statements, commercial analysis, and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Produce and reconcile partner statements accurately and on time.
- Prepare accruals and prepayments.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor operational costs and analyse financial performance.
- Produce KPI and performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver commercial and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities within financial data.
- Improve reporting processes, financial controls and systems.
- Provide ad-hoc financial information and analysis as required.
About You
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Experience preparing accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, budgets and forecasts
- Strong experience producing reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within an operational environment such as retail, logistics, distribution, healthcare or similar service-led businesses
- Understanding of financial and operational performance drivers
- Experience using Sage
- Previous experience working with large datasets and financial systems
