Location: Carlisle
Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time
Adecco Workington are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client in Carlisle for a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced manufacturing and supply chain environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials, goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities for a range of materials, components and services.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Track market trends and supplier developments.
- Work closely with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Resolve supply chain issues and minimise disruptions.
- Produce reports and purchasing data to support business decisions.
- Ensure stock levels and procurement activities align with operational demands.
About You
- Previous experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer position.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Commercially aware with excellent analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
